deep fried lemon shark

Post by stormrunner »

my son caught a 6ft lemon shark and we decided to fire up some fried fish:
fillet shark and cut up into 1" chunks (no skin-no red meat).
Wet bowl:[/b] 1 (12 oz) bottle Crystal hot sauce, fresh fine chopped cilantro, couple eggs, S+P, garlic chunks and mix with flour to make a batter about the consistency of pancake batter
Dry Bowl: flour S+P
dip chunks in wet -dip chunks in dry -deep fry very hot oil until they float.
VeRy NiCe Dinner - it is not spicy my 8 + 9 yoa daughters eat this..
ENJOY - LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKE THIS.
Do the right thing and forget about it no one needs to know - just you.

Sounds delish! How did you clean, fillet, and prepare the meat?

my son held the front while i took a 14" knife and took the fillet off each side. then I filleted the skin off. then cut away belly section and blood line. now i have about a 4' long pure white fillet with no blood and no skin. You can cut about 1/2" clean steaks to blacken, or you can cut the steaks into small "chicken nugget" size pieces to deep fry or sautée in butter like scallops and pour over pasta. Anyway thats it - i hope that helps you - Enjoy.

Lemon is my favorite shark to eat. When prepared correctly after caught, it is a very good tasting fish.
Sad to be sitting out this years Shorebound Shark Tourney due to work issues. Good luck to all that participate!!!

Someone made a childish racist remark about eating lemon sharks and totally derailed a great thread. His post was either deleted by himself or by a moderator. I was just showing him my disgust at his behavior.

It was some stupid spammer. Tommy took care of it.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."
