Ponte Vedra 7/29

Post by budman »

Fished outgoing tide from 0700 to 1500. Bait rods produced a couple nice pompano, whiting, blues, and 2 stingrays ( 1 was too big for the cooler). Sent the blues out on shark rigs, but no takers. Pecker fish ate the blues right up to the gill plates.

The whiting/bluefish bite seems to be picking up, and with that, hopefully the shark action will do the same. We put our first decent fish on the beach yesterday, a 6' 4" lemon. No monster, but we will take what we can get at this point. Shark fishing has been very slow up here. We usually have a good run of black tips, but my best this year so far is a 4 footer.
At least I'm getting a hell of a tan.
