This year pompano schools are not in the same area as last year. It changed in the summer. You need to find them in deeper water. That being said, the first pompano school has arrived. There are not that many yet but they are here. Rumor has it, they are more thick in the upper bay.. Gandy, Ft desoto, ... those areas.

Today I was lucky enough to land 5. Was trying to get my limit but did not success. I have never caught my limit, so hopefully this season will get me it.


Also the macks are running in full swing. There are tons of bait out there. Small Jacks and tons of Bluerunner as well. Water was not crystal clear but was acceptable.

Thanksgiving might be a bit late... My log shows me pompano are caught up to early Nov. Well that's my catching log... You never know.
