We get to the first drift and I set up to see where we are going, We drop in to test the waters and play around, all of a sudden on the retrieve Francis get hit by a screamer! he starts going to work and the reel fall soff the rod! he quickly put it back on and get her in 18# black fin! we stoped fishing after for a lil to wait the rain out, it started pouring so we gathered to one side and waiting.
Once we started jigging again things were slow, All of a sudden Francis says Dolphin! we get swarmed by peanuts! out of the 5 we picked up out of this school only 1 was a keeper. as the day went on we were greeted by 2 more schools with them only holding one more keeper. the Lead man got a nice sized almaco as well
Now we set up our last drift, I have had ZERO action on the jig personally all day long. We pass the wreck and im hit, fish on!! Lock her down and rip her up I start seeing color at about 75ft and its big, I get her close and its a smoker king! The fish sees the boat freaks out and does circles, Francis sinks the gaff and on the boat she goes! My personal best @34# weighed at the corner store on hypoluxo.
