Don't overlook some live or fresh dead pinfish butterflied in case you guys get caught in shallow. Don't waste your time on whitebaits I have never done well with them unless freelining for ytails. Kingfish, bluefish, and mackeral should all work well this time of year fresh and oily.

Yes he has a small one. It will hold 4 -6 dozen pins. If you get into the gogs or runners just release the pins or cooler them to make room.

Thanks Chris, yeah we are not taking white bait that I know of (I've never done good with it either). So far we only got macks, runners, and jacks. We will be going Thursday morning on our way to the keys and will look for cudas, more runners, ballyhoos, baby gogs and cigar minnows (if still there), and then the usual spot for the pin fish down south.

I got a few macks and some runners this morning and will head tonight to Anglins to see what I can come up with and again tomorrow morning if I hear it will be good otherwise I will stick with Key Biscayne since the macks there are in heat.

Went to Anglins and wind was kicking but from the South so I decided not to pay for parking and went home. I will wake my buttox up at 3:30 am to go to try again. But I will call first.

Sorry to hear that. That is the reason I seldom do trips from Oct. - March esp on the 6 packs. Hopefully you caught enough fish to justify the lose of bodily fluids if nothing else it was an expensive weekend at fat camp with fishing mixed in. Yuris boat does not do well in seas over 6 ft.

Hey, not all of us donated free chum. Although I almost fell down the stairs when I got home because I have some serious sea legs.

His boat would feel safer with some rails in the front and sides. I almost fell overboard transfering ice back and forth, I stepped on some fresh fish slime and fell on my butt. I'm lucky I fell straight down and not to the side. I can't imagine what its like doing that in 6' seas without a rail.

I think he is joking about the weather?

It was never over 3-4 feet the entire weekend. Never more than 15 knots of wind. I am sure I saw them off in the distance.

We left Thursday and had our rods in the water before midnight, it was about 5 to 7 foot seas with some big ones every now and then, no more than 8' footers maybe. But it was rough. Most of us did get very sick and one and half of us did not fish the first day. The boat was very steady after Friday morning. I think we did see the Yankee Capts in the distance on Saturday. The report with video to come on Tuesday night if I collect all the pics and videos from everybody.

Here are some teasers:

All of these pinks were caught on vertical jigs.

All in all we got sick on the first day but we had great fishing at most times.

Yes, the weather was fine. Much better then NOAA predicted (no surprise there). We saw you guys out there on the horizon a few times as well.

All kidding aside, the fishing was outstanding. We loaded the boat with our snapper limit, and almost all were muttons. Add to that close to our limit of grouper (blacks, gags and reds) and all the 15-30 lb kings you wanted to catch, and it was a blast. I have a 125 quart cooler completely packed with fillets, good thing I took today off of work so I can portion and vacuum seal them. We'll all be eating good for the next 6 months.

There will be a full report with lots of pics in the near future.

Yeah, all kidding aside the weather was only bad on the first night after that it was nice 3 to 4 with some 5 footers rolling every now and then. The real report will show and tell all of it with pics and video.

There are many stories to tell about that trip, the squid left behind is one of them, LMAO!
