Running out of Ft Laud

Post by kiz »

Got a chance to go out and fish for a bit since early June. My buddy brought his boat back up north from the keys.(Broke his finger moving it so hes been out of commission until now. Guy in the boat ( NOT ME BTW) let off the gas as he clipped the strap, boat slid, crank was in free spool, spun like crazy caught his first two fingers fracturing them. So now hes in pain and the boat still isnt on the trailor. BAD day for him.) Anyway back to last Saturday super excited to go, we get out of PE and can see the storms rolling in. Were trolling in about 800 ft with dirty water and thin weed lines getting nothing. we follow a couple in to about 200 ft and pick up a couple cudas. Watch as the storms run around us. Start back at it in about 350-400 and I notice the far side short is bending like its got fish on like the last two lines did but no clicker ??? My buddy invited a friend of his who apparently flipped the switch early on :nilly: so As I grab the pole I see it jump a nice long blueish hued fish. Much bigger than the two small cudas he caught earlier. Get it boat side and let out the scream WAHOOO !! A first for me and a great feeling which turned into a delicious sunday lunch. He was a little guy but a fun story since it was a slow day for us...

:toast: Nice Hoo!
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

I kept it simple, salt, pepper and a splash of lemon on the hot skillet

A little not to bad it was a quick thing and not a lot of salt at all. For future reference how would you cook it. We split that little guy 3 ways so it wasnt a lot of meat to eat.

Wahoo cooks really fast, take extra care to not over do it, becomes dry when overdone.

I prefer my Wahoo Sashimi style cut very thin and drizzle with soy sauce and wasabi.

Melts in the mouth.
