Big ole snook from last weekend

Post by bullbusters »

Went out fishing with mark for little bull sharks. I was contacted by an aquarist who was hired to get a bull shark for a private aquarist up in NY city and he wanted me to catch one for him. The guy up in NY has big money and had bought the permits together for two baby bulls under 4 feet for his brand new 100,000 gallon aquarium. We meet Matt the aquarist at the spot and we begin to fish. We miss 4 quick hits and then nothin. All of a sudden my 50 goes off and fast. I can tell the fish is big cuz its taking some nice runs on my 50. I tell him it might be cutting it close as far as size goes. It comes up and instead of being a bull its a MONSTER SNOOK. The thing has to be like 30lbs deff overslot.

We havnt caught any by the end of the good tide... so i tell matt to meet us at the same spot at 6 am the next morning to catch my favorite tide. We get there and sure enough Mark hooks up with a perfect baby bull. We put it in the tank in the back of the truck and its off to NY. I am in this pic with marks bull cuz its the only one i have on my iphone.. i still havnt been sent the one taken on the camera with mark holding it.. but i thought it would be cool.. cuz seeing a bull this small is not an everyday thing.

That's a big snook for sure. Yea what was the bait that the snook ended up eating, a ladyfish?

Sweet fish boss, must've been going through a midlife crisis picking up a dead mullet on a shark rig. :drunk:
