Snakehead state record

Post by Tull »

Now that the snakehead is off the kill list (not that this is breaking news) of invasive species will the State keep a record of the largest caught?

I doubt the state will, but the IGFA probably does.

IGFA has for a while, jason (kngfshman) had the junior record for a while but someone beat him, I know my largest was probably near the 10lb range

I had the igfa all tackle world record for greater snakehead for approx 6 weeks before it was beaten by Jean Francois Helias. It was 9lbs something. I have since caught many larger, but none bigger than 11lbs. I think you need 12lbs and change to beat the current world record for the greater (cobra or bullseye) snakehead.

I would forget about trying to set any line class records-they are all on giant snakeheads and will be hard to beat with cobras
