RICKENBACKER CAUSEWAY

Post by apkim1972 »

Hey group,

I'm planning on fishing the Rickenbacker Causeway bridge and before I head out next Friday, I wanted to try to get some input like...
1) what's the best bait to use there? can they be caught there?
2) current strength
3) type of lures to try
4) best times....
you know, the standard questions for fishing a new area. I tried to recon the area, but there just wasn't enough (friendly) people fishing that day.
alright, post'em if you got'em
I'm so glad I live by the Ocean again...

I use live shrimp on a liveline and splitshot or Jig on shadowlines at night but be careful it can be a little hairy at night.

It has been some time since I was fishing there.

The Rickenbacker is most definitely open to fishing. I went on a recon patrol of the area this past weekend and I saw a bunch of people fishing. Looked like they were only catching some really small fish (I want to say it was menhaden), but I'm not familiar with Florida fishes so... could have been anything small.
