We missed that one Capt. Bruce but you are now on it. We thank you very much for all the sponsorship you have provided over the years, Billy Bones is also on all the fliers that went out to 8 different states.

Once again thanks,

Herb.

Hell Yeah! Very nice fish all the way around. Lots of nurses but it looks like that's changing. Sweet Tiger & a great Ray but like I said all nice fish period. Keep'em coming & safe fishing.

Those tagging the sharks please include the tag number with your e-mail entry so we can track the tag serial numbers not just the amount of tags.

Thank you in advance.

I just looked at the tag Numbers on that tagged fish and it seems to be Team Black Barts shark caught days before...traveling a good distance and caught by another Team many miles away...Major Props to that team on a good safe release and show with out a dout that we are releasing these sharks unharmed to live and fight another day.....Again nice Tag and Release Guys!... :salut: .. major props !..mike

That will be one of the great things about this tournie. Seeing how, when, and where the same sharks are caught again for the rest of this year.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

On that tagged lemon -- knew those mating scars looked familiar. Did you guys trade-out tags on that fish? In other words, retrieve Team Black Bart's and place one of yours. Despite the short time at liberty, that would be an excellent data grab -- for the very reasons of the time and distance, and not to mention, it occurring during a cpr, tourney event. And, of course, it's a points opportunity.

I wouldn't bet against that happening again during competition so everyone keep it in mind.

So far, a great sampling of what's out there; an abundant variety of healthy species. Great documentation and release technique, everyone.

Awesome. Keep It Up,

Yes we did keep the Tag,

I caught the Lemon we then removed the tag and placed our tag in the fish on the opposite side of the dorsal fin.We actually have photos of both tags in place ..Team Captain Mike will be doing the pics soon ..Pretty neat though to catch a tagged Shark so fast after its capture a few days proir that tells us even a well beat up breeding Shark will eat a few days later after being caught that alone is GREAT RESEARCH ..And shaows the fish was handled well on her other release..

That's great, and a picture-perfect example of the entire system at work. I'll be talking with the research team leaders up in Narragansett later in the week on another related matter and will give them an update on the types of results we're getting. Every recapture tells a story. You're right about all that's going on in that one lemon shark's life in a short time frame; mating, eating, capture, release, recapture, release ...

This is what it's all about,

Thanks Buddy,

Tanner has to hold onto your hand but he can walk fairly well he just looses his balance on the Beach .He was holding onto my wife as she snapped the pics...I want to find a way for him to be able to reel a shark in off the beach he really loves his fishing . He had a bad day yesterday the worst thing we can"t figure out is his vomiting and yesterday he did vomit about 15 times over the past few weeks it was one time a day in the AM . Hey the kid is a tough kid.

Thanks again, CapT Bruce :toast:

Hi Gio,
Yes,Tanner is doing alot better but today he was in the hospital for his uncontrolled vomiting. He is cancer free but the poor kid vomited about 20 times yesterday. Mark, I do like the idea with the electric reel Tanner will to that would be neat for him..Its good to hear from you Gio..how is my buddy Gus ??

Thanks alot, CapT Bruce :toast:

Here is my report: after not getting a single bite the first time I went out we tried it again, we put the baits out, we got one hit and one hit only but it produced a nice lemon. It was not the biggest lemon, but a nice one. As you can see on the pics she had been mating, she did not fight much at hook up so I thought it was a nurse shark, but the she peeled some line and felt her power but on the 14/0 it was just crank, crank until she felt the sand and all hell broke loose. My drag was hammered to the max and having no one behind me to hold me down she made me eat some sand LOL. ALL in all it was alot of fun until the noseeums came out in full cloud forces. Thanks Mark and family and friends, it was great fun.

All was ok
100_5778_small.jpg
I thought she was under control when then by surprise,ZZZZZZZZZZZZZMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM BAAAAAMMM! I eate the sand look at the line in the sand, that's from my rod,LOL
100_5779_small.jpg
Brad and Mark helping with the landing
100_5781_small.jpg
Releasing her
100_5791_small.jpg
Brad reviving her, very carefully he helped her regaining her strength, great job dude... :toast:
100_5794_small.jpg
All in all just one 8 footer but a great day at the beach, at times I felt like just staying out there on the kayak enjoying the calmness of the water.

I hope you all are catching them big time.
