What are the fish fighting pro and con of a 5'6"-6' Stand-up rod ? Compare to like a 7' to maybe a 8' regular saltwater fishing rod. I understand one of the benefit of the even longer 9-11' rod is to help with getting a big fish out from under those Keys bridges where they called home.
Thanks for your inputs.

Re: Stand-up rod pro and cons???
Casting is another reason. Resting the rod on the bridge is another reason where a short rod might have problems in clearing the bridge & line will be rubbing and losing a fish if it runs.
