Looking for Yak partner this winter

Gonna be back in S FL from Dec 26 to Jan 8...if the weather allows, I'm gonna load up on some gogs and head out in hopes of a sail. Anyone care to join me?

I will be back in town probably after the 26th or so.... Where are you planning on launching..... I am targeting Sails this winter too. Finding the right day is the trick....enough wind for the kite but not so much that landing is a guarantee dump.

Yeah, the weather will dictate if I go out or not. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I dont know where exactly I will launch yet, but either Pompano Beach, Hollywood, or Dania. I can meet you anywhere though...

Sounds great on paper, but the seas in DEC are kinda ugly when that N wind gets to blowin. IF you find a day when they are as low as 3-5 that will be your window.

I would suggest launching at like Dania or so and taking out at either LBTS ( Anglins ) OR if the current is ripping heading to Pompano just S of the pier - Meterd Parking. Even if u dont drop a car, launch and land upcurrent - can always take a cab back top the launch site to pick up your ride. Paddling back in 3-5 against the wind will be a nighmare !

BUT - you may get a sail shot !

The winds have been agreeable so far - check the FS forum in the No Motor Zone thread. Therere guys that launch in broward quite regualrly in there. Many have anso landed sails. This would be a good group to tag along with!
