mack attck
Mack's were thick today as I headed back of shore in my kayak. The water was better than yesterday, but the wind was pushing hard east. Plenty of bait for the taking and I loaded up with greenies and paddled out. There were plenty of air demonstrations by the macks and kings all day long. I hooked up with my first bait and landed a fat mack. The rest of the day not so good... I had three straight baits get hit, and all three hits cut right through the wire! I ended up killing the sharks all day and not really happy about wasting greenies on baby black tips, but it’s better than working so no complaints over here. Also as I headed in the water turned a bit cloudy, but not so much that I could not see plenty of nice size spinners in the surf. Maybe I will drop a line for them next trip. Also note to self.... bring enough wire for the unexpected, and more than two sabiki rigs!
Fish like its the last cast you will ever make.
