My first Jigs that I tied....

Post by bbegovic1 »

Nothing fancy, just some small 3/8 oz pompano/mackeral jigs I attempted to make.

These don't look as horrific as the first test runs and experiments. These are (to me) the ones I'm most satisfied with and the cleanest so far. The heads are unpainted until I come up with something. I know it needs some touch-ups which is why I wanted to see and take any kind of advise or comments of what I should do next time to make them better. :toast:

Materials Used
  • *3/8oz Redfish Jig Heads
    *White Buck Tail
    *White Marabou
    *Gold Flash Strips
*Heavy Duty White and Red Thread

Not bad Ben! If your gonna paint them, then tying them first will work. But it can make it a little more difficult to get a good paint job. To save your self some cash, head to the dollar store and get "Tough as Nails" fingernail polish. I havent tried it yet but roofer Dave swears by it.
Nice Boat! Now get it outa my driveway!

Thanks Pat. Once the water and weather kick up a bit, I wanna try any catch a pomp with them to see if they work. Thanks for the advice on the nail polish, will save me some $$. i'll let you know what ends up happening.
