Post by LINESIDER »

built this for some permit and bottom fishing, in the 30-60lb class 8' fast action extra heavy..this is a bridge rod, built to take a beating..
looks like i got the pic uploading figured out. Now just need to sort them in order.
either way i did the under wrap reflective and also from the tip down under 3 guides..

No sarcasm son .......that is a beautiful rod. Looking forward to seeing and holding it in real time but until then I think it's a very nicely done piece. Barret-esque

Question: Marcos the wrap looks too perfect to have been done by hand. I know it's done by hand but is there a machine involved that lays down the thread? Is the design programmed in somehow? I've never seen it done and would rather ask you than find a YouTube vid.

TY its all done thread by thread, one next to each other up n down the blank. i pack them tight every couple wraps..only machine is a lathe to spin the rod,but thats not used on butt wraps. used more for under waps or guide wraps..

Amazing you could design and free hand something that intricate. I wear loafers so I don't have to tie laces lol. That last pic looks absolutely three dimensional. Juan told me you were really good but nothing like this. I'll follow up with a PM

Gray White n Black fit together really good :toast:

What he did is to draw a line on the 0 and 180 axis and then space marks every repetition.

One color up the other color down and as far as I can see about 20 threads strong with the the white cornered as last thread with one black to give it a face. The background is the grey giving it that 3rd dimension look

Then you wind up with that look.

You do that with an x axis and 2 way up 2 way down you wind up creating diamonds. Basically wrapping around the x equakls diamonds

Well done :dude:
