Sweet lemon, you're getting them good. The tag should have had a number on it to report it. It could have been from a number of different agencies, probably NMFS though.

I believe that FWC will either take the report or let you know who to report it.
Some people build bridges. Some people fish off the bridges. Some people burn their bridges. Others should just be pushed off the bridge.
Caught by hand.

Cut the tag and call the number. They will tell you where to send it. Some tags have an address to send it to. They usually send you a certificate with the info on where the fish was originally tagged, etc. Some tagging programs offer a cash reward too, I got $50 when I was a kid for catching a tagged striped bass in the Chesapeake Bay.

sorry i dont have a god picture of a tag right now, but the ones we use have a little capsule on the end that contanes a form to fill out and mail or call in.. it will look like this with a number on it..

it would be cool for a thread just to keep tag numbers so people could look back to see who caught it..

this si the type of tag alot of us use around here, did it look like this??

Jetty's right! Not something you're going to want to try on your own though. There's several measurement's involved. Doing it by yourself, you'll end up keeping the Shark out of the water too long. Anything over 3 min. dramatically reduces their chances of survival. Nice job by the way!

and that's the reason why i didn't try the extra effort for measurements and such. it would of been out of the water to long. i need a team for that.
