Tiger sharks when and where?

Post by PeirRat1985 »

I have always dreamed of catching a tiger shark. I have been shark fishing every time I go to the keys but I get bulls, tips and lemons. Anybody have some insight on what time of year and preferred bait for these monsters?

fish the beaches and not the bridges. get out of south Florida cuz you will likely have a better chance of getting a tiger. big stingrays, bonita, jacks(crevalle or amber), large carcasses of bottom fish like grouper and snappers are the baits to use. remember if its too small something else will pick up on it.

Tigers are highly migratory, meaning they don't stay anywhere very long. The when is during Turtle nesting season. The where is pretty much anywhere on either coast. You can catch em anytime of the year but during nesting season there should be more of them around. Turtles being their favorite food, they tend to follow the food. Find the nesting beaches and fish near but not on them.
Nice Boat! Now get it outa my driveway!

The panhandle seems to be the most consistent place in Florida for tigers. The east coast from Palm Beach County north would be the next choice.
