You can get them on cut shrimp, sand fleas or tipped jigs. As far as bait on fishfinder rig on bottom is killer for snook, jacks, tarpon, etc.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

diggin4grouper said it, and also those ramps on Bridge Blv. just cast a big sabiki like a #10 tipped with shrimp (less chances to get pinfish). I like to use a chicken rig with 1/0 circles. It will be inevitable to get pinfish or pigfish on the sabikis but you will also get the croakers. Just find the sandy areas along the beach on those little beaches (these look lighter in water color).

Oh, thanks for the tip! Wish I was coming from the south I would stop by that place to try for some snapper and also those croaker. I am coming from Orlando and will try the melbourne bridge and see how that would fair. Will try different beaches along the way too.

Maybe I would just go there and catch some snapper for dinner :).
