Living On Island Time 4/4
I went on the night trip saturday the 4th, fishing was slow, but it was a nice evening with tons of activity around us. We must have seen a dozen sails by the end of the first hour. Not a single king came up on the drift side of the boat, so I switched to the other side for forty minutes or so half way through the trip and pulled up two lanes, that one the pool. It was slow fishing, but it was nice out; I'm going to go out again to make sure it was just a bad day and not the boat.
I'll post pics later.

I think you had a bad night I just recently started fishing on that boat only been on there twice and both trips were great. I have only done the morning trips and both times multiple cobias came up. I caught a nice king a few days ago on that boat as well as some tails. Too I know they don't do night time trips everyday like sealegs so I would stick with the legs they have great night on that boat.

Heres the pool winning fish.
I have never had a chance to fish the Sealegs, I hope to get around to it eventually as it seems to be everybodies favorite.

I follow them on FB and they have been slaying the cobia during the day trips. Definitely a boat I would take out
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I agree. They have consistently been catching cobias.

Re: Living On Island Time 4/4
I want to try one of the day trips now after seeing those cobes, but have coupons for the night trip. What ever shall I do.
I am going to try again this weekend.
Does any one have suggestions on catching bait in the ICW lake worth, lantana, or boynton. I used to be able to get them in lantana, but no longer because of the construction.

Scince we are talking about drift fishing, what do y'all prefer for a stinger hook, treble or jay, I think that I lost the only king bite of the night, with a jay, a few inches of calble and another jay, would I have gotem with a treble?
He cut the dine cleen in half on the wire over the hook and it didn't get him.

I fish a jig with a double hook kingfish rig on it and 50-60 lb mono or fluro leader. I get cut off once in a while but generally get hit when no one else is.

I also use small to medium spinners for kings. I feel I get better jigging action than those using conventionals. At times action means a lot for kings.

Re: Living On Island Time 4/4
The mates were cool with me using braid on my TLD I was considering renging a smaller set up next time like what your talking about, the one I would bring is a fairly short spinner that always amazes people on lake worth peir how fast I get in the bonita, so I might give that a try.
oh, and by the way is your picture of one of the California Long Range Boats, thats something I realy want to do.
