The tournament was for Dolphin, King Fish, and Wahoo. Our biggest was a 42 lb. King Fish that we caught early when we were deep see fishing. We caught so many King Fish we started to throw some back in the water. The huge cooler was starting to fill up.
We went trolling and caught no dolphin, except for one dolphin that I caught. We threw it back because it was only 3 pounds. It could have been my dinner, but still... I ended up bringing in a 34 lb. Tuna when we were about to finish trolling.
They dropped us off where we put the three biggest King Fish and the tuna that I caught in a wheel barrow and rolled it down for about a quarter mile to where the awards were (The picture of me with the Tuna was taken when we first got off of the boat). We had given all of the other fish that we caught to the captain and the first mate as a side tip for them. At the awards ceremony we found out that no Wahoo were caught. A few Dolphin were caught, but they were small and all by the younger kids. It turned into 15 years old and under for Dolphin. We entered our biggest three King Fish into the tourney. They weighed them and put our name on the list.
We saw some bigger fish and never expected that in the end they announced our boat for third place. We were happy and received a small trophy for this. We gave it to Nathan's dad, who tipped the captain and first mate and took us onto the trip. We are going to enter next year too. The charter we took out was one of the top three boats in Florida to charter because of the captain's and first mate's experience in fishing.
