long time no post, but I have been super busy with work and lots of other things! Wanted to get the kids in some nearshore action before school started as a treat for them, so I called up Capt Vinny and set a date, went out of PE at almost 7 and hit a few spots before we set up for some snapper fishing! Capt. Vinny did a great job getting us on fish all night, we mainly caught Mangrove, Mutton and a few yellowtail, and something special for my 12 year old.
Here are the boys on the boat at the dock! Capt. Vinny has a nice boat, very comfortable, can definitely fish four plus Capt and Mate!

Later on the Snapper bite started getting hot! We threw many back because we only wanted to keep what we would actually eat, didn't feel like stockpiling the freezer (I'll save that for a Yuri trip one day.. lol)
Paul with his Mutton

This was the first time snapper fishing with the freeline method, so there was a learning curve, but my 10 yo Paul, really listened to Josh the first mate and Capt Vinny and picked it up quick!
Then to make my eldest son's night, Capt.. Vinny sent a dolphin head down for the guys in the grey suits. and almost instantly the drag went screaming!
It was on like donkey kong!!

Capt. Vinny did have to help Peter a little, but I would have probably needed help too.. lol
As it ended up being around a 7ft lemon shark on the other end of the line!

Hard to tell from this angle, but this was a very large shark!

All in all, it was a great night, the boys had such an awesome time, I highly recommend Capt. Vinny, super affordable, you don't have to deal with crowds, him and his first mate Josh love teaching as well, I am putting together a jigging trip soon to go out with him and hit the wrecks!!
Thanks for reading!!
