That sunday I caught a king on the way back to the port trolling. 1/8 of an inch short.
I threw it back. (of course)
Yes I am glad they check also.
I also saw the coast guard stop a boat that looked as if there were too many people on it.
Seems they are cracking down and getting ready for summer!

I have like 6-7 bellies!!!!
Yesterday after I cleaned the fish I looked around and only saw one belly.
Dammit I just filleted one and left the belly on.
Thats ok. Me , like the snappers, love eating belly too!!!!
Yesterday me and my friends ate half of a 30 somethingish inch king sushi style.
Dammit it was gooooooood. I swear that it was better than any sushi places.
Pics and report coming soon.

Did the kings come up to your flatlines? What was the bait of choice?Rijkaard wrote:Despite the steady 15 knots wind and 2-4 waves (some bigger ones in the 5-6 ft range) me and my buddy decided to go out anyway, we stayed out from 10am to 3:30 pm, boat (22' zodiac hurricane) kept the sea perfectly, we just got a couple of saltwater showers because of waves breaking right into us while drifting, no big deal, we were dried up in minutes... Bite was good on the drift and on the bottom, we ended up with 2 kings (27" and 35") that I caught on my 12lbs spinner (love catching them on light tackle) and many cutoffs since they didn't want any wire for some reason, a nice 19" porgy, a couple of strawberries and some good size tilefish plus some undersize red groupers and short muttons. On our way back in the ICW we were stopped by the Coast Guard who asked me to show them my catch, they saw the porgy, one of the kings and they told me it was ok and thanked me, good to see them checking boats as well

Fishing report without pictures equal boring.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."
