Peacock Bass are back in force in Dade County.

Post by striper2 »

After the freeze four years ago, all of my Broward County spots were gone. They are now coming back slowly!

But, my Dade County spot, where i keep a jon boat has come back with a fury! I go once a week, and get as many peacocks as I buy bait. Went this A.M. and caught 30 peacocks between 2 and 4 lbs and 6 bass between 2 and 5 lbs. If we get through this winter, this year's fish will be 5 to 7 lbs!

Any specific spots you would like to share? I've been looking for some Peacock action here in broward with not much luck.

I've always been trying to find something worth while. Rarely get a day to fish but would love to catch something more than a baby bass lol

There have been enough post over they years that if you do a little research, search the boards, you can easily find them. Search the MyFWC site, look for the Peacock bass info and it will lead you right to them.

Sometimes you just have to put in a little time, some days they are there, some days they are not, some days they bite, some days they don't.
