A tow back would be more than welcome.....Paddling back to the launch if I have to go it alone against wind and current DOES blow.permitchaser wrote: just kidding guys:lol:

Yeah it ain't a wise choice to do your first yak fishing experience offshore. Start in the ICW and get comfortable fishing from your yak first. Also, you would need basic safety gear like a marine VHF radio, pfd, etcC-MONEY wrote:I sent you a pm but I think I sent it back to myself..I have a kayak but I have only dropped shark bait from it, im willing to go out but I have never accually fished from a yak.

Launching and landing in surf is hardest. If you can make it out in rough surf to drop bait, your fine to fish IMHO. DO however know how to get back in the boat in water over your head if it flips - essential. PFD and whistle is all you really need safety wise(law) - after that it is a matter of your personal peace of mind...Also if you can't swim a mile in the worst case scenario, Id recomment stickin to lakes too.
Madangler - Got the PM - Will call later so we can meet at the launch and shadow each other out. More is better on a Holiday weekend - May have a few fellas I've yak-fished W Before from our Lake Worth adventures taggin along... Check the FS forum...
XP - No worries, Im planning on doin a few drifts this summer....We'll catch up on the next one. There's a really cool tournament in July coming up W/ A yak division - I'll post a link soon...
