i'm going to the keys at the end of this month and i want to go out on a yak but i only have a 4 seater raft i was wondering if that would work for fishing and if it would be safe

Prolly safe as far as tipping, but might be hard to turn or move quick to get out of the way. I'd try it on the lake first or a DEAD CALM day first. You do not wnt to find out the shortcomings of your yak in 3-5 with current and wind. Especially in a barge like that.

But hey, if that is what I had at my disposal, I would be out there getting a line wet and working it out. Fast yaks re narrow and tippy. Stable ones hard to move and maneuver. somewhere in the nmiddle lies perfection. It is a personal preference. I have a "fast yak" - I would prefer one a tad wider with better storage. The result - Innovative invention.

I say just get out and fish ! :P :lol: :P
