Don't need pictures sounds like an African pompano nice trip . What was the cost of the charter you took and how long as I might set one up.

Roosterfish are a Pacific fish found mostly in South America but look alot like an AP .

nice african pompano they are a beutiful fish. ive heard they are ecellent table fare. ive only caught one it was a half inch short gotta be 28 if im not mistaken

Nice Catch, I have seen plenty caught I though have never caught one Congrats, Yum Yum Thats a Griller.

They are not as uncommon as you think just most people don't know where or how to target them. For those with the knowledge they are a realible catch during certain times of the year. Good eating from what I hear I caught a few short ones and couldn't bring myself to kill the cute little things even when there was no size on them. Big one goes in the cooler though.

linesider, what were you trolling and did you have them at different depths?...

also how long was the leader on the bottom rods?...3-4 feet?

so you were bottom fishing while drifting then?...did you have any problems with ur line getting stuck in the bottom?
