Boats for Kids to learn

Post by cyril1974 »

Hey everyone, want to take my 10 and 8 year old boys to try deep sea fishing for the first time, we are out of Ft. Lauderdale, but wouldn't mind driving from N. Miami to Deerfield or maybe even Boca, would love a good recommendation on a good boat that enjoys helping little guys learn and love saltwater for a lifetime!

Thanks,

Charles

Thanks a ton, looks great, the kids are pumped, have any of you fished on the boat who know the best times to go, morning, afternoon or night?

Thanks,

Charles

I always wanted to go on sealegs, but I was told by countless people that I should open-carry if I go due to the regulars, it appears they (the regulars, not the mates or captain) are a little "impatient" with newcomers and children.... I could be wrong, but when 10 different friends who don't even know each other say it.. well.... lol

I have been taking my boy for the last 2-3 years on the Sea Legs and the regulars treat him real good. He is 14 now and can't wait to get back on the boat.

That's good news my friend, it looks like I will try out sea legs some time next week when the ocean calms down a bit.. it has really been rough out there!

Thanks!

I used to fish the Reward fleet twice a week before my old fishing partner died,,, they are great with kids on the boat infact they had a daytime fishing camp,, moms and dads would drop their kids off in the morning.. so not only was it a drift boat they were also baby sitters,,, its a good boat and Capt Wayne is a really nice guy...I remember them putting out the kites and when hooked up they would let the kids reel in the fish... Sea legs is also a great boat that I use from time to time now a days when I decide to hit a drift boat... both really good boats
