BOCA INLET advice!! type of bait?

Hi all,

Was thinking of hitting up the Boca Inlet and giving it a shot for the first time. Can anyone tell me what they recommend as far as bait goes?

What type of rigs are you all using?

All depends on what you want to fish for. Tough to beat white jigs silver spoons or ghost Xrap for jacks mackerel or blues. Live shrimp drifted along the bottom with just enough of a split shot to keep it down works well for about everything. There is generally bait there so bring some sabikis. Never hurts to match the hatch.

I guess I'm just trying to catch whatever is out there really. Dont really have a target fish yet since I'm still a bit new to all this.

I'll check out some white jigs and see if I can get the hang of it. Anything frozen work?

I avoid frozen bait for the most part.

Buy fresh, or catch your own. I dont have a choice on frozen sand fleas, because I am to lazy to catch them myself.

I dont know about up in your area, but most bait shops have live shrimp. Sometimes they have other types. Most of us have cast nets and catch mullet when they are in town. Sabiki rigs are another way of catching your own bait.

There is generally some bait there. # 3 or. 6 sabikis will do the trick.

As far as best time of day to go fishing at the inlet, any advice?
