Fyn 2013 day 1

One of the highlights for me was always the spring trip for sea-run browns in the
clear Baltic sea around the island of Fyn in Denmark.
We would usually go on such a trip with 4 to 6...

Plan A today was to go fishing the stream but when a unscheduled work party was
called in I had to ditch plan A.

To make a long story short....

Went fishing, caught a fish, took a swim in the river, headed to the pub to thaw, got beer, got food, happy :-)

The day of the trout season opener coincided with
a workparty at our clubs hatchery.
All members of the club where required to attend at
least one workingparty, if not they had to pay
a fee for not...

As an official closure of our fishing season 2012 my friends and yours truly made
a final attempt to catch some fish at this years ends.
Goal was to catch pike in some of our local small streams.

Now...

Well. to come back on the temps ... they are below the usual right now.
For the past couple of weeks it has either been to cold due to snow and
hard water or to wet due to rain and flooding to fish....

My plans for yesterday where to fish the river and hope that the
chub would be active.
According to the weatherforecast light rain was expected but it turned
out to be heavy instead.

Trout season is almost done so I made
a last visit to the trout section of the
stream I fish.

Fishing was difficult, not because of the
lack of fish but because of the lack of
water in the stream....

Went fishing for steelheads...but saw only 3 very finicky fish. Salmon don't usually feed in streams, but I had 2 grabbed my worm today...one snapped of my 6lb fluoro in a hurry, one stayed on.
