Great videos on those tigers guys, congrats.Maybe it's me but how
about some good old fashioned story telling with each picture of those bigger sharks.For example what rod and reel was it caught on,how long
did you fight it,what adversities did you overcome to capture the fish,what bait live or dead ,,,,,put a little human drama in it and make it that much more memorable.It's great to compete and show what you got but people
are intrigued by the story of man against beast and man's spirit to survive and overcome in the wild.Hook a monster that will test the
limits of your gear,test your physical stamina and your determination
to fight and not be beaten.Where's the 1000 pounder?Who will catch and write about it?Go gettem guys!!!We start fishing this weekend.

Hey guys. its me. i havent been on here in a while. ive mostly been fishing. keep the positive comments coming and we'll keep working hard for your entertainment. LOL im glad everyone likes the footage. its not the easiest thing in the world to have someone filming all the time but we have some sick ideas for some future footage so stay tuned. here are our most recent catches.......
we almost got our limit on these bad boys. lol.

and Will... sorry we havent been telling stories. it takes time and there are fish that need to be caught. we'll let the videos do most of the talking....but that big tiger i had though was incredible and thats really all i can say. i almost broke my braid belt in half because i had to hammer the drag on him in order to not get spooled. It took an hour and a half on the PENN international to get him on the beach. once we got him close enough into the break where we could see what he was, we were all beside ourselves. it was scarry standing on the beach and watching that thing swimming so close to us. just made me feel really small standing there looking at the distance between the dorsal and tail fin. barely hooked him outside the mouth in the cheek. i just cut the wire and three of us dragged him back in the water. He swam away like it was nothing. I dont know how long it will be until i get another fish that big from the beach but hopefully soon....... maybe an hour from now.....

oh by the way.... im going to the keys with christian this weekend and im probably going to end up at Bahia Honda. anything different i should know? any advise? basically, im just going to kayak my baits out into the channel and hope to not get wrapped around a piling or lobster pot.... am i going to get beat up by the locals? i hope so, because i might have to start defending my own territory up here at home pretty soon and it would all make sense to me why its wrong to fish someone elses spot.....

I'm usually not vocal on this section of the forum because of my lack of knowledge surrounding shark fishing but I felt I needed to comment on this one.

I couldnt agree with you more. These photos are amazing and the fish are incredible but its missing the humanizing element. Thats really what this unofficial board is all about, a compilation of all of the teams individual victories which make up the 2007 Shorebound Shark Tourney.

No Sharks on the board yet but its going to tell our story. Each of you should do the same, it will just make it more interesting.

Thanks for the story on the big Tiger. Ben the fact that you almost got
spooled makes it a great story.Sorry that you feel the need to be sarcastic
about us fishing anywhere we want even right in your public beach backyard.As a free American i have the same rights as as anyone and that includes the right to fish anywhere i please as long as i'm not breaking any laws.This is a competition and we know how to compete and
will travel,spend the money on gas,hotel rooms and whatever other expense comes with it.I read in last years tourney that you have been shark fishing for about 3 years and that's great that you catch so many tiger sharks but keep in mind that others such as myself have been at this since before you were born so how about a littlie respect,,,,,,,,,anyone that knows what kind of man i am knows that i will gladly take anyone who is sincerely friendly to fish with us to any and all spots that we fish including the Bahamas.Try acting more mature and realize that the human bond created in fishing is far more important then the competition,,,,,.Oh and by the way did anyone beat you up when you
guys came to The Big Hammer awards ceremony?Did anyone so much as
say anything offensive to you,your dad or any of your friends?I did'nt think so!! I don't permit disrespect from my crew and command respect

Everyone chill with the back and forth crap.

IMO hats off to Land Pirates your videos show skillz and and you have gained my respect as Great fisherman with conservation up front, with great releases and great team work, yes i am jealous that you are getting these tigers truth be told, but it will just make me fish harder.

So heres to you

Fished Wednesday night and into Thursday Morning,

Hooked up with a nice fish and did everything i could to get him to stop and I succeeded and turned him and started to get some line back when out of the blue this beast makes an atomic run and straightens my hook.

Its sucks last week I went 5 for 5 and this week starts off with a loss.

Anyways it was not long before the secret bait was taken again and this time I got in a ok size lemon.

Fished some other bait, because I was out of the secret stuff and manage a few nurses, man i hate nurses and NO I will not put a Nurse in this Tourney.
Manage to catch some more secret baits and got only two more hits real shark hits and they dropped the bait, I figure they were small spinners.

Had to head home but will be fishing the sunrise all weekend

You guys are doing very well and I am proud of you guys..

Ben you are a very dedicated young man to the Fisheries .I have personally watched you guys handle these Sharks and have seen the respect you give them and how they are relesed unharmed to the best you can do. I know you guys have put your time in these last 2 tournaments keep up the Good work and its already showing. I wish all the Teams the best of Luck and am looking foward to getting the Nice Prizes over to Baitwetter (Gus) for the Tornament .Hats off to Bens Dad Bob , I have also watched him paddle out baits . nice lemon Tommy!... and every one else i mighta missed in the official thread been busy with the new job stop on in and see me, i can talk to ya there....... but we have a few fish to post, been lettin my new team mates get used to that big tackle we use, but there doing great at the ajustment from a small Avet to a 14/0, zac broke one of our smitty harrness on a fish last week so i guess thell have to armstrong them just like us .. nice Tiger there POPS!......and Christian ill give you a nickname that will stick.....benji , keep up the hard work... its showing...oh and try not to keep gettin to many battle scars...lol....mike
