Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
lol the guy working up front at the pier told me yesterday that even if I found the guy, unless i have some way to prove its my rod I can't do anything about it...I don't need any fckin proof, if I see that rod that guy wont make it off the pier with it, and he's gonna leave in an ambulance

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
He is right. My son's bike got stolen once. I spotted it. The kid that was riding it said it was his. I "politely" told him to get off the bike and I took it home. Sometimes the only thing that works is being "polite".Jordan wrote:lol the guy working up front at the pier told me yesterday that even if I found the guy, unless i have some way to prove its my rod I can't do anything about it...I don't need any fckin proof, if I see that rod that guy wont make it off the pier with it, and he's gonna leave in an ambulance
I dream of a better tomorrow... where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
I see a guy catching Macks couple weekends in a row from the end of the pier on a bobber, 1-2 ounce egg sinker, and a "silver" jig, casts and reels about as fast as he can. Daytime only then he stops. I catch on slow so it won't be till this weekend that I try it myself.sight fisher 131 wrote:I will be fishing deerfield this weekend and I have never fish here so what should I expect? Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
Went around 7/1 from 1700-2300 hours. Caught live bait off the beach, a jack, spanish mack, and hooked some huge stingray twice on a snapper rig. That jerk of a stingray ran for the beach and snagged everyones line, so I left right after that. Seems that people have trouble getting live bait there, or prefer dead bait: dont know why.

Took the kids yesterday to the pier (4pm to 8 pm). A few blue runners were caught along w/ some undersized mangrove snappers(that were thrown back) but that was about it. There was some bait but mostly 3 inch cigar minnows & blue runners w/ a few pilchards.

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
Went to Deerfield once and it seemed like decent seasonal fishing. The crowd was pretty good, (no booze) and the pier is def the most well taken care of in south florida with plenty of amenities surrounding it. Still can not help but wonder if someone would chip in and sink a boat or two a little east of the pier, if the fishing would be up to par with Dania/Newport.

Went fishing yesterday, solid blue runners in the morning then its kinda sporadic during the day.. Some sardines for bait but you have towork hard to get some. Water was clear and a light breeeze from the east. No descent fish caught, no macs...attendant says renovation will be sometime in oct or november THE PIER WILL BE OPEN during the renovation,so if you want to fish thats good news!!!

Both my friends and this forum have been talking for days about how good the fishing has been so I came down for the weekend to visit my parents and come fishing. Well I was at deerfield from 7am-12pm with nothing to show but a single ballyhoo.

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
Watch the weather when planning a trip. A stalled front is not such a great time to fish. Just before a front arrives the drop in pressure gets em snappin and a day or two afterwards....Fish are so sensitive to vibrations and pressure, I think a falling barometer lets em know to feast up before the seas start to churn. Then of course once the barometer stabilizes and the seas ARE up, the churn inshore gets em thinking food as little worms and crabs start to become exposed and the food chain begins..... Well, thats my theory anyway
