Shortbill Spearfish, once in a lifetime catch

Caught this bad boy yesterday on a dolphin feather on the blind troll. Once in a lifetime catch. Very rare for these waters.

Highly migratory species... Nice catch! Lately fish are doing all kinds of crazy stuff! You guys hear about the marlin free swimming into Bimini Marina?

Haha, ya, if Rare says it's rare, than it's definitely rare! Saw the marlin in Bimini, my buddy was there and got video on his phone too. Haven't seen his footage yet. Crazy stuff.
The guy I fish for has made a successful living in SoFlo as a commercial fisherman, charter business owner and billfish tournament captain. In over 40 years in the business, he's only seen a shortbill spear 1 time... When I saw him freak out, I knew it was something special for sure.
