I will be heading down to Gulf Shores the end of July for a little R&R.
What can I expect from the State Part Pier or other local fishing areas?
Any fish I should target in particular? I am a bass fisherman who uses openface reels on 7’ to 7’6’ reels. 15lb to 25lb test line depending on which rod/reel combo I grab.
Any information would be greatly appreciated

There will be a veritable smorgasbord of fishy critters to catch. I've got friends down the road from there who love soaking baits on the gulf shores pier.
Flounder, whiting, drum etc etc. just go have a good time

Do you fish for Flounder in a similar manner as Catfish? Tight line on bottom.
