Was out there today from 8:00am to 3:30pm. Water was not clear, there was current, and it was a bit windy. Caught blue runners, cuda, muttons, mangroves, and a nurse shark. Had amazing fights today on two of my rods but wasn't successful at landing the fish. Two cut offs and one was a really good fight for a couple of minutes finally had it by the dock and the hook pulled. FML!!!!! I really couldn't tell what kind of fish it was but I saw some color and it was big. That fight I tighten my drag 3 times (6500 spin) and it was still taking line, at the very end it won.... oh well next time. Overall it was a good fishing day.

Ended up keeping this 11.5" mang.

This 13.5" mutton gave me a good fight on my 4000 clash reel.

Lol summer may be officially over for you only,, waaaaa? how you gonna say a shitty day when you go at sunset aka closing time, hell homeboy proved you wrong with that mutton and Grover .... :uplol: I've still been seeing plent of decent snapper catches from land and boat, summer is definitely not over especially with hurricanes reaching the northwest and temps still in range. Though I have heard of a few finger mullet pods lurking the moon phases are still in snapper favor IMO

Like baseball said you went at the wrong time.

BTW I forgot to mention that I saw FWC on my way out and thought they were going to search me and my cousin's cooler. NOPE, nada.... we walked right passed them as they were chatting.

Was out there today from 8am to 1:30pm. There was no wind in the morning (no see ums were out in full force) , hardly any current, and water wasn't really clear. Caught blue runners, small lanes, and 2 ten inch mangroves that I released. Had my biggest fight as of yet. Something hooked on my 6500 spin and I had full drag on him and there was no stopping him. He was starting to spool me and I tried cupping the spool big mistake ended up pissing it off and got burned by the spool on a nasty and final run. Then I tried again on my 8500, this time it was about a 4 foot shark. It wasn't a blacktip or a spinner but similar. I honestly don't know what kind it was. My cousin took pics and a video. I will post it when i receive them. The guy next to me said it was a bull but I'm not too sure. I been having some real nice fights at Baggs lately.

If it was a stingray it was a powerful one, a 60 lb permit would be nice though. lol

Here's the shark I caught, does anyone know what kind it was?

Was out there yesterday from 8am to noon. It was hot, no wind, and slow current. Caught multiple mangroves in the 10" that were released and only kept one that was a fat 12" caught by my old man. I had two good fights, one on my clash 4000 an almost 15" mutton and a stingray on my 8500 which I thought it was a shark. I caught both fights on the GoPro here's the video with the highlights.

Was out there today this morning till noon. Winds were light during the morning hours and then it picked up throughout the day. Water had a green tint but not clear and current was strong. The cold front must of killed the bite. The only thing caught was 2 blue runners and 1 jack. I did catch a weird fish that I will post a pic later. It looked like it had a couple of crab legs and wings?

Mystery fish is more than likely a member of the sea robin family.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Thank you sir! You are correct, it's a sea robin.

Below is the video highlights of that day, slow day but still fun.

Nice vid...i prefer a breezy-overcast day to fish the park..too much pressure during perfect days with heat and boat traffic

My cousin and I went fishing at Bill Baggs this weekend. I caught a massive puffer fish, small lane, a couple of blue runners, and a small mutton. My cousin caught a couple of blue runners, a mutton, two sharks, a bonnet head and a nurse shark. He had two drag screaming runs by stingrays, all caught on video! A lot of boat traffic in the afternoon which really sucks cause they pass hauling @ss really close to the docks. It rained on us a couple of times but we still had fun. Enjoy the video!
