Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I decided to go spot hunting last friday Jan. 15. and hopped on my bike to a spot a friend recommended me in the grove. Nothing was bitting there so I decide to go to bill braggs. I got there an went to p 8, the water was choppy and the current was strong, but I decided to give it a try. I hook up with a lizard fish so I ride all the way down past stiltsville and cast out a live shrimp on my 7' rod and decided to fish for snappers with my other. Bam both of my rods were hit at the same time. My big rod's reel is screaming and line is peeling off I tighten the drag a bit and start to reel and it took off again. So I put the big one down and fully reel in the little one and caught a small snap that I put back in the water. So now that I have my full attention on the big rod I was determined to see what I caught. So after fighting for 5 -10 min I pull up a 3lb bonefish, I put em back and contiuned fishing and caught only one keeper snap. Wish I would have brought my camara. But I will be going back later this week.

Oh and Wayne great job on those snaps :toast:.

26" is the largest Mutton I have seen caught on land. Great job. :thumright: That rod looks familiar.

What do you mean good luck, lando?? You have told us that you have never caught anything there except 2 things. One of them is rocks and the other a cold from the windy days. When was the last time you even went there? Right before Andrew, right! I mean get real at least be truthful. I know what you look like and I never seen you there last time I went and that was afew months ago. Why are you lying to us?? You are really just lying to yourself.

Hey NMPFLY or what ever that is, are you just here to piss people off. Man I took your side on the somewhere in the grove thread and for what. I guess all these other guys like RARE and BOLO and PP are right about you man. You are just some unhappy guy that wants to rant and rave about nothing. You say you have seen me I don't know you and don't want to know you.

I was just kidding Lando and the rest of the crew here in the forum! I was just board at work and wanted some attention. I get more attention here than I do at home. I love this place. I'll be in your house tonite to play some bones okay and I'll let you win this time. Who else would you go to the gun show this weekend if it isn't me?? Alan Harper, maybe?

Hows it going guys!! I am heading out tommorow to Bill Baggs early morning to catch the high tide. Any recommendations I should know so I can catch dinner. Which pier would you guys recommend and what type of bait and rig should i use with this cool weather? Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
