In total DINKS all 3 top teams had 6, 5, and 7 sharks that were smaller than 6 feet. This is not counting black tips, since most agree that the average size for these mini torpedoes is 4 feet but in our tournament the minimum size allowed is 5 feet and from the 52 caught only 23% of them reached 6 feet total length.
Some past tournaments were based on how many sharks were caught. This Tournament is based on points and no matter how you arrange the above, the teams that won, would still win.
Props to all of you, all of you fished hard, some found the fish some didn't, some went out looking for the sharks and some sat in their back yard waiting for them to swim by. Some split their teams to expand their chances and some stayed together at all times. Like many say "it is not whether you win or lose, it is how you play the game" At some point we all want to win but in the end the satisfaction of participating is all that counts. I know many of you will have many memories that will last a life time.
Thank you all for all the previous complements and I hope to see you all at the BBQ on August 23rd at Carlin Park Juno FL.

Re: 2009 SBFG SHOREBOUND SHARK TOURNEY OFFICIAL LEADERBOARD/pics
Below is information on what happened at the Awrds Ceremony and Boatlessfishing.com BBQ
A lot of people showed up, about 80 to 100 people, Many people came, some left, but the majority stayed. It was nice talking to many of you that came to the BBQ. Many brought food and drinks, the food was great. Thanks Rob, Mark, and Scott for your your donations. It is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all that brought something and to all that showed up... Here are some pics...And thanks Nessa for taking most of them...
Setting up:
The man that single handedly won the fishing competition, he came at the right time so I let him go out with a secret item (sorry man you had to legitlimately win ) He came back with a pic of a jack and the secret item so he won the nice Star Rod
People started to come in so we started some more of the free raffles:
Team Rebel helping out with the mic and some free raffles
After wards we got the casting competition and too bad no one brought a 12/0 or a 6/0
Rory at it, many tried but only three went at it really hard
The spectators
Josh held first place for a while, but Curtis came back as he has for the last 3 years, Team Rebel tied him up, then there was a two man showdown and Curtis won again. He did sweat a lot on this time.
The Pavilion was at full capacity by 12:30
At 3 the awards were given. Some of these were tough decisions by the judges:
Biggest Tiger Guy Hickman
Biggest Bull Curtis Locke
Biggest Hammer Chris Bishop
Biggest Black Tip Zach Meyer
Biggest Lemon Josh Maib
Surprise award to rare catch a nice Tica 80W reel to Catherine, here is Mark receiving her award
Bridge Champs Team Locked Drag
Third Place Team Rip The Lips
Second place Team Old School
First Place Team Black Bart
Biggest Shark of Tourney Chris Bishop
Congratulations to all the winners...
I will be sending the certificates to those Teams that didn't show up because of distance or other motives.
Once again congratulations to the winners and the participants of the Tourney!
