Did some fishing last night with sword & TST (the dog)headed to jack's they had some nice shrimp. Off to the spillways. Windy and cold just the way i like it. No snook to be found. Found atleast 8...

Went out 10/24 Tue to the Haulover Jetty, saw a huge mullet run and what appeared to be a big shark feeding on it!!! The wind was extreeme coming from the NW So it was hard to cast as far as I wanted....

1. What is the best time to fish there: Night or day, low or high tide, incoming or outgoing...

only the first 50ft of the pier is open. you'll be casting at swimmers. fish from the beach early and late to keep away from the swimmers.

Had a doctors appointment in sunny isles so afterwards i went fishin' i got there at about 4, spent an hour there, threw out my line for snook/anything else with a small grunt for bait, no takers....

South jetty on the outgoing tide is the best,use live greenies or
any live bait like mojarras or pinfish,you should get a hit
now all they have to do is open the stupid jetty!!!!!!!

We drove down to haulover to find out that the South jetty is closed due to construction :? , so we fished the north obviously. We caught all of our fish on the incoming tide, and lost a few rigs on...

went on wednesday n today...wed ended up with a big mutton and a nice sized cubera(no sardines, all caught on shrimp/squid)...then today i caught a fat black drum n some small muttons

overall i find...

Sounds like what we use to call up north Oystercrackers all mouth and will snap off fingers.
I caught one held on to a knife blade for about 20 seconds.

Those strange fish you described are called toad fish. They have spines on the viscera that you need to be catious with. I have been poked a couple times taking them off the hook for myself and others...

^^seems accurate...lots of spanish macks n blue runners...but the pier is only 1/5 and casting from the beach would get u the same effect in my eyes...lots of bait however

Hit the jetty at around 11:00am. I fished with frozen shrimp and man were there tons of bait snatchers :x . Some guy caught a :shock: HUGE :shock: permit that was about 45lbs!!!! He used a big crab...

Wow that much, I have caught alot of them.

I will have to keep you in mind, when I am back at work I have come across many a cool creature in the Live Shrimp tank at the pier. Alot of sea creatures...

Went to bakers cut haulover to check things out brougt one rod with jig didn't even cast because the wind was so strong some guy caught a 20 plus Cuda on a cuda tube Another guy got a 12 inch Mango on...
