With the last of the mullet run coming through hard to beat a foot long mullet on stout tackle fished on area bridges or piers on a high tide late at night.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

LoL those Berkley powerbaits are candy in the water. I can't remember the exact number, but we both did very well on Snook. Not to mention I nailed a Tarpon right before I left that finally destroyed the Mullet Powerbait I was using.

Losing lures sucks but once you catch your first Snook it'll all be worth it..

The Berkelys are in a class by themselves compared to other swimbaits. Storms, calcuttas, and tsunamis will get the bites, but their hooks bend out for even lower slot fish. The 5" mullet work well in the surf too. I landed an 80+ lb tarpon from the catwalk at SI with a 6" powershad, if that won't break a hook nothing will.

I have never tried the Powershad , after reading thesse reports may have to give them a shot.
