I’m back from my trip and Debra told me about your group – how exciting that you want to help out! She just stepped out so I wanted to send you a quick email to see if you are totally set on the 20th. That happens to be the International Coastal Cleanup too, they are the cleaning group we use for all the bridges, which would be appropriate!

I was thinking of using a couple of garbage cans for recycable items. I'm sure there is plenty of paper and plastic lying around out there.

Looking at my calendar I think my son has a tae kwon do tournament that weekend, but I will double check with the wife.

If I am not there, and I know this isn't why people go, but as long as we are doing it, get a group photo of everyone in front of (or behind, depending on how big) a pile of all of the garbabe you collected, and with Boatless Fisherman himself's permission, I will do a press release on it. It will help bring more traffic to the websight etc.

I spoke to fishnfool73 about the cleanup this morning. I was going to sign up, but its September 20! Thats the day I get back from my honeymoon. If I am back on time then I will make it down. I think this is great as we all see the shape of some of our favorite bridges down there!

RICKY Yes it will I want to hit the slopes as they were filthy last time I was there 2 weeks ago. Ideally I would like to have enough people to form 2 groups and have one start on each side of the bridge (north and south) and meet in the middle.

UPDATE: Tommy and I have disscussed the volunteer shirts and I need a count. I need everyone to start RSVP'ing and confirm who and what they will be bringing.Drinks? Snacks? Ice? etc. etc. and the more ppl the better.

Your kids , your neighbors kids, kids you find along the way down. As long as they can pitch in a hand cleaning the more the merrier. I feel it would be a good lesson for kids to take part in this.

I know that many schools are requiring their students to have X number of community service hours to graduate. Is this clean up, something that high schoolers can might be able to get service hours for(not that this isn't a worth while 'cause, but many young 'uns still need an extra initiative to give back) We might be able to recruit more high schoolers to come down and help us with our monthly clean ups if we can get them some service hours for their contribution. Just a thought
