Post by maddawgandcrew »

find a better fish to eat than a moony is hard to do very easy to clean and for cudas thier reel good to thay live on the reef and eat the small fish and get cigratera poising but what other fish live on the reef and eat everything hu "CAN WE SAY GRAY/ BLACK/RED GRP" or snaper if you throw back a cuda that eats higher in the water colum than the bottom fish your missing some goood food.

CUdas ARE THE BEST!!!

Post by swordfish »

They taste soooo good, if u wanna know if its safe theres a few sure fire ways... FIRST, find a nice juicy ant pile and drop a little piece there... If they devour it then its totally safe! If it has ciguatera I GUARANTEE you that they wont touch it, they will go around it. In the absence of ants, then go to a KITTY!!! Prefferably a cat that likes raw fish, most do, its in their DNA to eat raw meat.

These are just two ways, also remember that the toxin does affect cudas as well, so they wont fight too hard will be easy to bring in! Coloration is a bit brownish, and they might be missing teeth, or real soft gums!

Ciguatera is not funny bussiness, your hair will fall off, this includes PUBES, HEAD, MOUSTACHE, EYEBROWS... Your teeth will also fall off rather easily, and your gums will be shot, its bad... not to mention the throwing up and runniness... i know a few people who have gotten it and it wasnt fun according to them... So just use your common sense and the wealth that has been perfected through millions of years of evolution! NATURE can tell you many things, you just gotta litsen!!!

Bringing up an old thread. I caught one last year, and planned on giving the head to my 7 y/o for show and tell. I put the head in an ant pile and put a bucket over it....2 wks later the ants had moved on and the head was left intact...ciguatera??
