Thanks Nilsen but I'm just a foot soldier here getting told what to do. An annual or semi-annual FAMILY style kind of event was part of the original BF blueprint Tommy drew up in '05. It's part of his plan not mine but I am very down with it. Sometimes the stars kinda get lined up just right and things start getting put into motion...... that's what's happening with the BBQ now. Like when Ricky appears, starts stirring the pot (no pun intended) and now some long time members are calling this a reunion! "Reunion" is much bigger than "BBQ".

I think it's also a unique opportunity because incredibly almost everyone is here right now. The pavilion was easy. Short money for a big upside. I'm hoping we end up getting feedback from everyone that attends regarding what worked and what could make it work even better. Phil it would be great if either your wife or Pandora (or both) helped out here too. From their perspective as ladies and moms how could we make it better.

Nilsen fast forward ten years......Chris shows up at the 10th Annual BF BBQ with this cute little bimbette in a white tank top and pink hot pants on his arm, he then dumps her and spends the entire afternoon shooting the chit with all the old farts he grew up fishing with. Because in his world nothing is cooler than hanging with the old farts. Can ya see it bud?

It's when the sky opens up and all Hell breaks loose with horizontal rain, hail, lightening and all kinds of excitement and you have to run under the bridge for shelter. And the rats have the same idea. It's a fun time and right of passage for sons and dads.

We will be at the Leatherback Pavillion 1.8 mile in on main road on right side



Park Fees
$6.00 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle.
$4.00 Single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle.
$2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.

Who wants to volunteer coolers filled with ice, I think we will need at least 4 large Coolers filled.

We all can still bring our smaller coolers these Bigger ones are just to have ice to put over the others and to also use to store the cold food until it is eaten.

Who would like to organize the raffle on the day of the BBQ ?????? I will take care of getting the raffle tickets and will bring them with me.

I am open to anything I just can't commit to organizing, I am a little busy the next two weeks, My girls just got back from England today so I have some catching up.

I am putting together a Tackle package or 2 to be raffled these will have essentials in them Hooks, Jigs a lure or two and so on.

I am open to anything I just can't commit to organizing, I am a little busy the next two weeks, My girls just got back from England today so I have some catching up.

I'm not sure if I'm going to regret this or the rest of you will but I'll put my mouth where my mouth is and I'll take the point for the August 3rd event. GK put his name on the last one.....KOTS is going to be written all over this one. Apologies in advance for my crappy management style lol. Here's what I'm thinking........ it's time for a little "thank you" to all the members that have carried this puppy since 2005.....if your rank is like mine (Old Salt) or newer and you are grateful this forum is here then consider volunteering for something. Anything. Like Tommy said we need 4 coolers of ice and Jesto just stepped up and covered one. Three left. The good thing about volunteering is you always get the job you want. It's 20 days and counting........and things are under control. Assignments will be randomly issued during the last week

Tommy you enjoy hearing about the England adventure and hanging with your girls. Send me a PM and I'll meet you at Anglins one night when you are there and we can kick this around. Any new members that want to lend a hand send me a PM too.

You are a good man Phil. A raffle would be great because we do have a bit of a short fall going on. Nothing big but we have been spending a couple of bucks to make the BBQ special. Like the pavilion set us back $150 but I know that's going to be short money for a big upside. And I know Tommy has been moving a couple of bucks around. Nothing we can't handle internally but it would be nice if all expenses were covered by raffles or donations.

Maybe someone has a slightly used Accurate 665 bouncing around somewhere looking for a new home just sayin bud

Speaking of the tackle box raffle. I switched over to using side sided bags, specifically a boat bag from Bass Pro. Pretty sure I've got an another one sitting in the closet in Everglades I can check when I get home Saturday. It looks like this one if y'all think it'll be acceptable, works like a champ for me and holds 5 Plano boxes.

Got this invite when I turned on my phone coming back on Yuri yesterday.
I'll be there, Tommy, shoot me a list of anything and everything you still need. I'll cover it. Any pavilion fees or whatever, I'll get those as well. No clue where this is in terms of planning, just read the title. Didn't even know the site changed format. Been buried in outfitting the boat.

Radar will be in first of next month. Then I see just how long it takes to get to Bimini. Jeff from T&R is hooking me up with all my outrigger gear and electrics.
