Hi, I just moved to Fort Lauderdale from GA. I love to fish, however, my husband doesn't. I am looking for a safe quiet place to fish. I do not like going on the crowded piers and bridges. I will need somewhere to park as well. I have no idea where to go. As I am a female fishing alone I really need a pretty safe area.
I am not looking for any particular fish, just whatever is biting. I like to fish with squid and shrimp, and also LOVE to shark fish with live bait.
If anyone can help me find a place I would greatly appreciate it. I will also need pretty good directions or an address for the GPS as I am not yet familiar with the area.
Thanks so much for any help!
Valerie

Hello
Sad to say but there is not many places to fish alone and be safe, your best bet is a Pier and Anglins is a safe one and there is plenty of room to fish so there is not people on top of you.

Welcome vllewella
As usual Tommy is spot on, Anglens is about the safest place you're gonna find.

Re: New to Fort Lauderdale need help finding a spot
Thanks guys. Ive been there. Will the research and asking around I have done that is the answer I get the most so I thought I'd try it. It wasn't too bad but as far as bridge or pier fishing I'd rather drive down to Rickenbacker bridge. The fishing seems to be better there. Maybe I just picked a bad day to go to the pier but no one was getting any bites there that day. Plus it's kinda hard to pull a shark up a pier. heheheh
Thanks anyway
