How I made my Fishing Cart!!

Post by bluefin71 »

Ok I've been looking for a fishing cart, I do not see spending the money for the ones at BPS, plus they would not really fit my needs as I have 8-12 foot Surf rods so the stand up holders wouldn't work for me. Here we go for $140.00

1. Garden Cart from ACE Hardware $89.00

4 Stainless Steel 1/2 2 in bolts washers and nuts $6.00 attached 2 1x3 board to bottom frame for support weather proofed with Flex Seal! Attached Angle Brackets :dude:

Weatherproofed the wood stand 2 1/2 foot height attached plastic gutter down spouts $7.50, sprayed cart with 4 coats Rustoleum. Added some hat lights for where I will put the LED's :pistols:

Had to take of the back axle to get the Rod stand on, now all this for $140.00 lightweight at 24 pounds, fits in the back of my Mazda Tribute with plenty of room to spare. Oh and tricked it out with a hook to hold my Cast Net or Bait! This holds alot of gear very easlily and boy is it nice not having to take my rods out to go out to the piers cause of their heights at the pat station, and very easy to load and pull the gear. ENJOY! :toast:

Yeah I know! Just haven't gotten around to it. I saw a great cart at Home Depot for $49 so I had to pick it up......Now to trick it out.....

Really, I was wondering about that. Think I should take this cart back and spend the extra $20 for a larger cart that has the rubber air filled tires?

Or the Harper version.

These cart's Rory, Ron & myself have if you go that route.

Word

Most that do not learn from others trials and errors will go thru 2 or three before they end up at the same place as suggested.... just saying...

Could not agree more with the advice given! I leaned the hard way before finally getting it done the right way, 20 bucks goes ALONG way in the long run, and you will not be dissapointed :toast:
