Kelleys Fishing Fleet

Post by big red »

Went night fishing with Kelleys Fleet last night.

The sea is like 1ft with very light wind and no current running.

We fished at around 60ft of water. Lots of Yellowtail coming over the stern. There were large Grunts,Blue Runner,Moray eel,Lane snapper and Nurse Shark caught. Also there were like 5 Gag and Strawberry Groupers caught and released back into the water.

The only thing that spoil the trip is that couple of guys landed a Grouper and hide it in their backpack. The mate is too busy fishing for a extra income to noticed. Too bad I don't have my phone with me to give FWC a call.

That sucks. I would have told the captain, most of them will take care of a situation like that quickly.

Wonder if the boat captain will get in trouble if there is undersize/Out of season catch onboard ?

They really should control how all those cooler, packs etc going all into the dark corner. Lot of Grey areas I know that. Don't want to upset the customers and so on.

You should have told someone. I know in a situation when you are alone, you might not want to confront anyone... but the captain and crew will back you up

I would think in most situations like that don't even look or say anything to the scum... the reprisals potential is too great...

if you act like you could care less they will not think of you when the @&&$% hits the fan....do let the capt (no one else) know as discretely as you can....999% of them will do something about it ...ask the capt if he will contact FWC for you... most will take care of the problem and you wont see the scum on that boat again.
