I might be interested in this trip, but will a Saragosa 6000 spooled with 50lb JB Braid handle this type of jigging?

Re: Sealegs Jigging Trip - Sunday January 29th- IS A GO
Yes it will, more than likely there will be lots of 5 to 10 pound blackfins hopefully a few 15 to 20 pounders at that time of the month. There might be a couple of AJ's and almacos, plenty of bonitas. We are hoping someone will get tangled with a wahoo, warsaw, snowie, or tilefish out there.
The only thing is when we go to deeper water you will only be able to fish mid column and up. The reel should do just fine.

That reel took 300 of 40lb mono. That's a lot of 80lb braid. It could take about 500 yards of 80.

You should of seen that reel power thru a lane snapper the other day! I really handled that fish well with it. Now the triggerfish was another story!

A Gosa 10K is a perfect size for the jigging we do. I will be getting one as well.
By the way in the 360 site there is a older model Stella 8k for $535

Sehoon, Have you contacted these 3 people? I know Ricky is one of them and he should be in the States tomorrow. Can you get Amy to tell you who they are and send me a PM? I can see if I can contact them. I want to make sure we all go, we don't want to have someone left out like it almost happened to Pat the last time.sepaik wrote:As of this morning. Nelson, I don't know who the last two are. But they'll be fishing.

19 spots this morning but a man and his wife (regulars on the Sealegs) took the last one. Wife is on standby since we cap at 20.
