I started fly fishing a few years ago in Texas. I was sick of watching fish hit bugs and ignore my lures or bait. It is a frustrating hobby if you don't have help and I gave up for a while. During one of the winter crappie runs I picked it back up and caught a few on my home made 1/64 jigs. That was it, I was hooked. Now I prefer fly fishing over anything else. I can cast fairly well now and tie a good mix of flies. Its always a work in progress.

Now to the point of my post. Are there any fly fishing nuts like me in the area that wouldn't mind sharing some useful information? I will learn the patterns here on my own but help would be greatly appreciated. When do the various bugs start emerging, what bugs should I focus on during different times of the year? What life stage are they at now? Any help and/or advice would be great!
