Had a roll of galvanized 1/2" wire hardware mesh laying around and got bored, so here's what I made this week. Now I don't have to resort exclusively to mullet! :toast: It's 24" square and 11" high.

Looks good. I don't think you need four entrance. Did u just use zip ties to hold everythign together? Looks really good. :toast:

Yep, zip ties, plus I cut it at 11" and used the tag ends to wrap around the top/bottom. I figured the more entrances, the more bait in a shorter time. Also, the red may help it disappear...

The trap looks really nice :toast: but I see that there might only be room enough for the smaller pins to enter, they will enter they just have to work to it. Red does not disappear it just changes color as the depth goes. If it did disappear fish would not hit some of my red lures in deep water, I do like using reddish colors since it looks like a blood :D

Again, great job on that trap :toast:

the colors under water have always been a misconception that they disappear but all they do is go to a grey or black , the color red at 3 meters (15 feet ) will look grey ...

Yes, I meant change to grey...I could have made the bait holder smaller in diameter, but I bent the sides in, so they will be able to get in, at least most of the way, then they'll be stuck and have to go in all the way!. The law only allows 3/4" X 3" entrance slots.

I think it looks great and you should quit your day job and sell traps.

I've seen traps used in the keys on grass flats working well. Where else do they work well?

HA! I don't have a day job...yet. They work anywhere. Bridges, pilings, intercoastal, canals, shoreline, piers, creeks, etc...
