2012 Blacktip Challenge

Hi everybody, we are planning to have the 2012 Blacktip Challenge Shark Fishing Tournament. There are no defined dates yet, but the tournament will occur sometime in February (possibly the last weekend of January). The tournament will probably remain a 3 day format like in 2011. Nothing is written in stone for the 2012 tournament yet, all rules, regulations, & boundaries are subject to change.

I would like to collect a number of anglers who will be interested in fishing the tournament. Please email me, info@blacktipchallenge.com or post up on the forum if you are interested in participating in the 2012 Blacktip Challenge.

Last year you didnt count Lemons because they are a prohibited species. Now that Tigers and Hammers have been added to the list will you not be counting those species in the this years tourney?

Hey Chris, I was going to keep the prohibited species rule, but it's gone too far. The only species that could win biggest fish with the newly revised prohibited list is a bull. So I have decided that every species counts. I am considering disqualifying nurse sharks, what do you think?

The dates of the 2012 Blacktip Challenge will be 01/26/2012 (12:01am) - 01/28/2012 (11:59pm). The anglers meeting will occur at 7pm on January 25th at Juno Park.

I would get rid of nurses, there is no skill in catching and landing nurses. With such a short tourney you would hate to risk having a nurse win the biggest shark title.

I agree, Nurse sharks are disqualified. I will update the rules on the website asap.
