Lemon on the bridge, big lemon on hollywood beach

Post by Team Shark Fever »

Went down to the keys with the wife and kids and sharkboy-50 to try some shark fishing on the Ohio-Missouri bridge: stopped at holiday isle
and bought us a big ol aj for bait.Put out three shark rods wouldn,t you know it sharkboy-50 gets hit on the 9/0 and fights the shark 20 minutes we gaff ,it walk it to the end of the bridge, measured it [7 foot 7 inch] took some pictures removed the secondary, carefully removed the bridge gaff and released it.The wife all alone back at our campsite catches a three lb mangrove-the biggest for the day.Decided to try the outgoing tide for the big boys at long key bridge but by the time we got there it was drizzling the wife and kids were tired and cranky and i was,t looking forward to tangling with something really big without enough personel to get the job done so we decided to go home rest and try the beach with what we had left of the 30 lb aj for bait.So we end up on the beach before sunset rested and ready for anything with our big guns.Put out three baits the aj head on my 16/0 out 300 yds sharkboy-50 keeps telling me i,m gonna get slammed with that bait and i don,t dare disagree, meanwhile the kids played on the sand, the moon came up beautiful and the night seemed perfect. The 16/0 gets hit nice and slow like a big confident shark usually does, set up and right away i can feel his weight ,fought it for about 35 minutes ,we beach it, measure it and release it .Pretty big for a male lemon 9 ft 8inches,did not take girth measurement but willing to guess shark at close to 300 lbs.As the spring approaches the bigger sharks will become more abundant .Had one more hit but missed we left at 1 am cause we gotta work.........Will pres* South Florida Shark Clubl

here,s the pictures of the big lemon

Nice report I have fished the MISS/OHIO for macks and snapper but never for sharks good to know as that bridge gets little pressure.

William & Co.,

Good talking to you the other day. Sorry for the delayed reponse -- been stuck in a dark room for about a week. Nice, healthy lemons. Spring has sprung a little early.
