this is another good source of weather and wind/sea forecasts information

http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/pulaski_shoal_light (Pulaski Shoal Light is just 12 miles NW of Rebecca Shoal, right in the area), I don't really see any reason for not going

Yuri cancelled my last trip and the storm was 1000 miles away and the seas were forecast to be 1-2' in the tugas, not to mention the storm completely fell apart 1 hour after he cancelled the trip..... 7' seas in the forecast zone where he fishes? Hope there is some good football on this weekend!

It was a private charter with 20 guests. With gale warnings posted for the eastern gulf and 50/50 chance of the Yucatan low becoming a named storm I did not want to chance it.

We go when have enough to cover expenses and the weather is good. We have gone with as little as 7. We do not raise prices.

Thanks

Greg

If they go out and have room in the Yankee Capts I sure would. I would jump in a heartbeat!!! They only show 18 on that list but you never know how many just show up like we would. We definitely have to get more bait.

The weekend? Too early to tell. Depends how fast the front pulls through and the pressure regulates itself.

In the last two weeks we have lost a 4 day and a 3 day. Did not expect that this time of year. I have enjoyed the time home though but am ready to get back to work.

Thanks for getting my hopes up Pat!!! LOL, Just hoping it will continue to decrease. Went to Key Biscayne today and got some baits. Raining cats and dogs but it was good fishing. We now have some lemons, we just need a ride to go make our lemonade, LOL :pirat:

I think yuri will be a go for sure, im thinking things will start to calm soon and the fishing will be fire so no worries, so sit back and relax dont stress it because you cant control the weather fellas.

Herb, how was the bait situation out at key biscayne.

Plenty of white baits (before sunrise and after), some blue runners, and many small macks showed up after 8am at Key Biscayne.

Don't overlook some live or fresh dead pinfish butterflied in case you guys get caught in shallow. Don't waste your time on whitebaits I have never done well with them unless freelining for ytails. Kingfish, bluefish, and mackeral should all work well this time of year fresh and oily.

Yes he has a small one. It will hold 4 -6 dozen pins. If you get into the gogs or runners just release the pins or cooler them to make room.

Thanks Chris, yeah we are not taking white bait that I know of (I've never done good with it either). So far we only got macks, runners, and jacks. We will be going Thursday morning on our way to the keys and will look for cudas, more runners, ballyhoos, baby gogs and cigar minnows (if still there), and then the usual spot for the pin fish down south.

I got a few macks and some runners this morning and will head tonight to Anglins to see what I can come up with and again tomorrow morning if I hear it will be good otherwise I will stick with Key Biscayne since the macks there are in heat.
